Operation Friendship Seniors
|
Every Christmas and Easter the Kinsmen club of Edmonton provides meals and presents to the less fortunate adults of the inter city, Boyle McCauley Health Center, 10628-96 Street. In addition to financial support for these meals the kinsmen themselves prepare and serve the meals. There is a great feeling of well being in knowing that you are making a small difference in someone’s life who otherwise may have gone without any recognition of the holidays if not for the actions of a few kinsmen. This project was started back in 1973 in conjunction with a request from the Operation Friendship Seniors Society to provide some funding to supplement other donations. The club saw this as a great opportunity to transform this token request into what has turned into a long term commitment to help where help is needed most.
